Go Carbonite Yourself With Carbon-Freeze Me At Hollywood Studios

As many Star Wars and Disney fans know May 18th kicks off the start to Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios in Orlando,Florida. This is a four weekend, star studded event for Star Wars Superfans! There are plenty of activities and celebrities, but the big news this week is the Carbon-Freeze Me Experience!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is giving fans the opportunity to relive the famous carbon freezing scene from The Empire Strikes Back! This new experience is part of the exclusive Disney “D-Tech Me” line that gives “personalization” a whole new meaning!
Here’s how it works. Several cameras will take multiple images of your face. Those images are then reconstructed in a computer for processing (ya know, a.k.a. Disney Magic) to create a little eight inch figure of you all carbon frozen!
But that’s not all! You’ll also get a super cool glow bracelet!… Ok that doesn’t sounds as exciting as an 8 inch carbon frozen version of yourself, but hey, it’s still pretty cool!
So how much is all of this awesomeness going to cost you? Not as much as you’d think.
Each carbonite figurine is $99.95 (plus shipping). You can order additional figurines using the same image scan for $74.95 each. They make great Christmas gifts! The replica figurine can be hung on a wall, just like the gangster Jabba the Hutt did in Return of the Jedi.
It will take about 4 weeks for the figurine to arrive. May the force be with you to be patient.
The experience officially opens on Friday May 18 in time for the launch of Star Wars Weekends 2012. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 407-WDW-TECH (407-939-8324).
