Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Are Back In A Big Way!
Has anyone else caught on to the TMNT Mania going on right now? I feel like I haven’t thought about the crime fighting foursome in years and now all of the sudden I’m being bombarded with ninja turtles! And if you live in the Minneapolis area you know exactly what I’m talking about! On March 17th 836 people dressed up in green made their way to the Mall of America – and it had nothing to do with being Irish…in fact they were there breaking a record for their favorite turtles from the Big Apple! Fans came donning their best Donatello, Leonardo, Michaelangelo and Raphael costumes in hopes of breaking the Guinness World Record for the biggest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles gathering – and with 836 turtles they achieved their goal.
But why the Mall of America? Well, they just happened to being unveiling their newest thrill ride at Nickelodeon Universe called The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Shell Shock. The devoted fans received commemorative Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles t-shirts, face masks and free passes to check out the ride! Lucky ducks…er turtles.
So now you’re sitting here thinking…”OH man! I’ve had that super sweet TMNT costume in my closet since I was 8 and I totally could have worn it! I missed out!” … Well yes, you did. But don’t fret! This wasn’t your last chance to celebrate your love of all things Ninja Turtle. Nickelodeon is going to give kids (and parents) a sneak peek of the Nick TMNT show on March 31st following the 2012 Kids Choice Awards! As of now the series will consist of at least 26 half hour episodes and will carry some big names such as Jason Briggs, Mae Whitman and Sean Astin!
And, brace yourselves! Paramount Pictures is expected to release a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie for Christmas 2013! The details are sketchy at best. What we do know is that it’s being written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man) and Josh Appelbaum and Andrew Nemec (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol). Michael Bay is set to be the producer. There are some rumors flying that this won’t be a cute movie for the kids but more a dark and violent movie geared towards grown ups. Only time will tell!
So there ya have it! Our little tidbit it of TMNT insanity. Speaking of insanity…If you decide to dress up in your Ninja costume for the KCA’s please let us know..and of course send us the pictures!
